SandwichEatUp Event - Cubans on Wheels - May 12th 6-8pm
On Tuesday, May 12th at 6–8pm, Deli Fresh Threads is hosting a #SandwichEatUp at Cubans on Wheels—and this one is special. We're bringing a brand-new sandwich creation to the menu, and you won't want to miss it.
Cubans on Wheels is a food truck located on Semoran Boulevard (off TG Lee Boulevard) in Orlando, and it's the Critic's Choice for Best Cuban in the 2026 Orlando Sentinel Foodie Awards. They specialize in authentic Cuban fare—think Cuban sandwiches, ropa vieja, fried yuca, empanadas, and more. I've known Barbara, the owner, for years, and her Cuban sandwiches are some of the meatiest, most flavorful I've ever had. They're so good, I bring my Cuban parents to enjoy them.
The Star of the Show: Biggie's Sandwich
I created something entirely new for this event—a sandwich I've never seen done before. Biggie's Sandwich is a sweet and savory mashup inspired by two beloved Cuban pastries: pastelitos de carne and pastelitos de guava y queso. Imagine pressing those two together on Cuban bread, and you've got the savory in the picadillo (Cuban ground beef), with the sweet of the cream cheese, and guava all on one perfectly pressed sandwich. It's delicious, and it's exclusive to this event.
