In a sandwich, sometimes the bread is overlooked. However the bread is what gives the structural integrity and can add taste to the sandwich. In sports a lot of the same can be said about the offensive or defensive line in football.
The line, in the trenches, is really where the game is won. If your offensive line can protect the QB and establish the run- your team has a great chance of winning.
Josh Sitton is an offensive lineman. He played at my alma mater: UCF- Go Knights!. He wasn’t heavily recruited in high school however through hard work and determination he played as a true freshman and just kept getting better. Josh was so good that he was 1st team All Conference in 2007. He help block the way for Kevin Smith to almost breaking the great Barry Sanders NCAA single season record with 2,567 yards.
Josh however did not stop there; he continued to work hard and push forward and got drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2008. Since his time in Green Bay he has won a Super Bowl Ring and was named the NFL Offensive Lineman of the year (2010). Not bad right?
It is great to see people achieving and continuing to be humble and continue building on their accomplishments.
You can follow @JSitton71 on twitter and follow him and the Green Bay Packers this upcoming NFL Season
If you plan to make Josh a sandwich make sure to put lots of Cheese. He says his favorite food is anything with cheese in it. Good thing he plays in Wisconsin.Featured photo courtesy of UPI/Rob Hobson
