Steel City Sandwich Factory

I am excited about our newest release because it is something I have wanted to do for a while and I would often get asked about when a Pittsburgh Deli Fresh Threads shirt was coming. I knew in 2020 I needed to add this sandwich shirt for these passionate fans.

Whenever I decide to do a shirt that is inspired by a city – I try to work with artists/designers that are local to those locations so they can help capture that flavor their city brings. For our Steel City Sandwich Factory shirt, I had the pleasure to work with Dylan Winters.

I told Dylan some of my ideas and concepts I had in my head and he started creating.  We wanted to run with the Factory theme sandwich shop and I wanted to include Steel Beams to represent fries- something synonymous with Pittsburgh sandwiches.  You will notice a lot of Pittsburgh references and Dylan did a great job on this design.

Some fun things to know:  Pittsburgh is known both as “the Steel City” for its more than 300 steel-related businesses. It was once the center of the American steel industry, and still known as “The Steel City”, today the city of Pittsburgh has no steel mills within its limits (it’s also called the “City of Bridges” for good reason- With 446, it has more bridges than any other city in the world).

The city is also known for great food and their sandwich are famously topped with French fries and coleslaw.

I am excited about this shirt and I hope when you see this shirt Pittsburgh fans will be wearing and Reppin’ my town when you see me you know everything
