Cuban Sandwich Festival- Worlds Largest Cuban Sandwich
Written by Biggie on March 25, 2014

I did not get to make it to the 1st day of Cuban Sandwich Festival – which I heard was very successful, well attended, and a lot of good food.
I was able to make it to the 2nd day of Cuban Sandwich Festival. Although it was a smaller venue, it did not disappoint. I got to enjoy the Monte Castro sandwich created by Dochos Concessions. It won the Fan Favorite at the Cuban Sandwich Festival. The Monte Castro was a Tampa Cuban – Salami, ham, pork, pickles and Cuban bread and then battered in a sweet and spicy funnel cake batter and then deep fried. It was very good.
The event I got to enjoy was the Worlds Largest Cuban Sandwich. Miami and Tampa have been going battling each other for the title of who can make the largest Cuban Sandwich. Tampa answered Miami with an 86.2 ft Cuban Sandwich.
They had various vendors make a section of the Cuban Sandwich and all 86.2 ft of it went to feed the homeless.
Here are some pictures.
Of course I had to wear my Miami Cuban Sandwich Shirt and it was nice to see others from Tampa agreed with me. I will say I would not turn down any Cuban sandwich coming from Tampa or Miami.
I will be attending the National Cuban Sandwich Festival 1st day event next year if it happens.
