In a time where binge-watching is at a premium- one show my family has already binged before being quarantined and rewatching again is The Goldbergs! For those of you who have not seen this hilarious ABC comedy – it is a show about three siblings navigate what it means to grow up in the colorful, loving Goldberg family in the 1980s. The show is based on Adam Goldberg‘s childhood and his family.
As someone who grew up in the ’80s and enjoys a good family sitcom – it is awesome to be able to share this Must See TV with my family. We love Adam Goldberg, but the character that my family loves and will actually say- “We need some Bevy”– is Adam Goldberg’s Smother- Beverly Goldberg. The character is played by the hilarious Wendi McLendon-Covey, who brings this character to life and is just awesome.
After watching 7 seasons of the show- it makes you appreciate even more getting to follow the real Mrs. Beverly Goldberg on twitter and she is just twitter gold. So great to read insight and just being able to interact with her. Being a foodie family and seeing all the different foods Beverly would make the family for dinner. There is an episode where Bev publishes a cookbook. Of course, The Goldnerds were all hoping this was real and when the cookbook became a reality -I had to order The Goldberg Cookbook
My daughter has already started trying out her baking recipes and of course, I plan to make her meals into sandwiches like the Big Tasty Pork!
This show brings me back to the sitcoms I would watch with my family and I just can’t get enough of Beverly and the rest of the Goldberg Family- it’s been renewed for a season 8!
If you have or haven’t – it’s a great time to start watching The Goldbergs
